History

John Harting and Erik Vollebregt both come from a family of growers that has a clear love for the horticulturist’s profession. As innovative, independent entrepreneurs they decided to join forces in 1999, with the thought in the back of their minds that scaling up was necessary to remain successful as proprietors. They sold both their own greenhouses and together they bought a new horticultural complex in Zijtwende at De Lier. The horticultural complex initially consisted of 19 hectares of developed ground and 16 hectares of empty land. In 2000, 8 hectares of greenhouses were developed and 0.6 hectares of processing facilities were immediately built. In 2005 the company had four connected greenhouses with a total of 30 hectares of cherry and vine tomatoes.
